The 470 team

Since 1976, the 470 has had a firm place in Olympic Sailing for men, and in 1988 when women’s sailing became Olympic the 470 was chosen as the double-handed dinghy for the girls. As sailing is a team sport, only one team per nation is allowed to start at the Olympic Games. The 470 is very popular all over the world, especially in the middle and South of Europe. The fast racing dinghy is equipped with trapeze and spinnaker to be sailed by two hands (helmswoman and crew).

Since the beginning of 2007, Steffi Rothweiler from Munich and Vivien Kussatz from Berlin are part of the pinta racing team. The two joined forces in the spring of 2005 and ever since have been determined to achieve a single ambitious goal: to win a medal by sailing in the 2008 Olympic regattas in the Bay of Qingdao.
